OWLS ACADEMY • Two-week program to help students make a successful transition from middle school to high school. • Six hours daily • 8:00am - 2:30pm • Session 1: Dates TBD • Session 2: Dates TBD • Transportation is provided Computer Application can be taken the opposite section of OWLS Academy to earn an additional ½ credit

  6. A+ Program Requirements: • Cumulative GPA 2.5 • No Out of School Suspension • 95% Attendance Rate • 50 Hours of Supervised Tutoring on Windsor Campus • Proficient or Advanced on Algebra I EOC or 17 on the ACT math section* * ACT score is subject to change

  7. Graduation Requirements • Class of 2021 – 4 credits of Language Arts – 3 credits of Social Studies – 3 credits of Sciences – 3 credits of Math – 1 credit of Practical Art – 1 credit of Fine Art – 1 credit Physical Education – ½ credit of Health – ½ credit of Personal Finance – Electives – Total=24 credits to earn a WHS diploma *1 credit=1 full year, ½ credit=semester

  8. Required Courses for Freshmen All Freshmen must take the following: English Math Science Social Studies 9 th PE / Health ½ Practical Art credit ½ Fine Art credit 1 Elective credit Freshmen 101

Honors Courses • Honors English I • Honors Integrated Physical Science • Honors World History – Qualifiactions for Honors - meet two of the three listed below • Score Advanced on English MAP • Score 12.0 or higher on Gates • 8 th Grade English Teacher recommendation • Honors Algebra II – Students currently in Algebra I will take a placement test to determine placement into Algebra II or Honors Algebra II

  11. OWL TIME One Hour – After 4 th hour, before 5 th hour 30 minute Lunch Library Quiet Room Math lab Science lab English lab Social Studies lab Open Gym Weight Room Club/ Class meetings Freshmen 101 (2 Days a Week)

Freshmen 101 • 2 Days a week, first 30 minutes of OWL time • ½ elective credit (All year) • Discuss transitioning from Middle School to High School – Study skills – Homework – Attendance – Character Education – Weekly discussions with 101 Teacher about academic progress. 101 Teachers can assign a student to a mandatory Owl Time academic lab.
