Proposal A Landmark Commission authorized hearing to consider the granting of a historic overlay district for North Dallas High School

Background Information  Located at 3120 Haskell Avenue  between Cole / McKinney  Current Zoning: PD No. 193 (MF-2), SUP 893 for a public school.  Land use  North: Cole Park  East: Single & multifamily, Church, School parking, vacant land  South: offices, vacant land and parking  West: Multifamily, townhouses

Background Information (continued)  Board of Education of the Dallas Independent School District voted 9-0 to approve designation based on October 5, 2000 correspondence to Landmark Commission.  The Greater North Dallas High School Alumni Association are in support of designation.  The North Dallas High School administration and redevelopment group are in favor of designation.

Historic Significance Construction started in 1920 in what was north Dallas.
