• 1. Newly acquired boiler had CO monitor. Activation of monitor

shut off boiler

• 2. Consultation with chimney experts diagnosed downdrafts in

unlined and undersized chimney flues that prevented CO outflow

• 3. We asked 1 Pierrepont St. to upgrade chimney flues
• 4. 1 Pierrepont St. denied our request on the grounds that

chimneys erected before 1968 were exempt from new regulations

One and nine Pierrepont St. Corporations created a legal Agreement, whereby 1 PP St. removed the existing chimneys and paid 9 PP St. a sum of money that partially covered the cost of the new chimneys and associated legal fees. Big Apple Chimneys did the installation, but failed to file for a permit. Both the DOB and the LPC cited us for this violation
