  2. What is Blended Learning? ● Blended learning is a combination of: ○ Traditional whole group instruction ○ Independent learning using technology ○ Flexible learning environment ■ In/out of the classroom ■ Haiku LMS and Google Apps

  3. Why use Blended Learning? ● Allows teachers better flexibility to meet with students ● Uses technology to improve collaboration, communication and creativity ● Provides students with more learning opportunities

  4. Classroom Days Vary ● The number of independent learning days and whole group instruction days will depend upon the teacher, class, and activity. ○ Independent learning will be blended with small group and individualized instruction.

  5. Attendance and Deadlines ● Attendance will be taken each hour for all students in blended classes. ● Students will be expected to meet deadlines. ● Blended learning addresses the same learning targets as traditional classes.

  7. Chromebooks ● All students at THS will receive a Google Chromebook for the 2013-2014 school year. ● Participation in blended learning is not required to get a Chromebook. ● Starting with the 2013-14 school year each THS students will be charged a $40 technology fee.
