Overview of the ASEAN ICT Cooperation

 A significant advancement from an ASEAN regional

integration into development of an ASEAN Community.

 ICT: an enabler and important sector to speed up the

ASEAN integration process

 ICT: the first economic sector in ASEAN to have its own

integration agreement “the e-ASEAN Framework Agreement” in 2000.

 To realize (by 2015) a goal of creating an e-society in a

“connected, vibrant and secure ASEAN Community” with free movement of goods, services, investment, skilled labour, and freer flow of capital.
