Overview and Outlook of Activities • Continue coal supply product to domestic market (Eraring & Delta) and export markets. • Await PAC decision on Airly Extension Project following response to DRE. • Operate 205 Panel as a ‘single unit’ and 122 Panel as a ‘super unit’ until September. • Commence program of ventilation modifications and coal clearance upgrade underground. 6

Airly Mine – Subsidence Monitoring • A second reading of the subsidence line over 200 Panel showed no additional movement since the first resurvey. • Pillar stress cells in the 200 Panel show stable readings. • A trial of InSAR remote sensing technique has been completed. See next slide for results. • An REF is being prepared for the installation of another subsidence monitoring line over the 121 Panel. 14

  17. Airly Mine Extension Project Update • Independent Geoetchnical Review Panel report completed. Report available on the DPE website. – Supported the geotechnical designs proposed in the EIS – Proposed a trial area of panel and pillar mining with 26.5º angle of draw to confirm predictions – Proposed monitoring of quartered pillars on the downslope side of cliffs to confirm predictions. Monitoring currently being planned for 121 Panel. 17

Airly Mine – Cultural Heritage Historically: Four (4) sites have been undermined 45-1-2746 (Artefact Scatter) - Dec 2010 45-1-2763 (Artefact Scatter) – Mar 2011 45-1-2761 (Shelter) – Jul 2011 45-1-2762 (Artefact Scatter) – Sep 2015 Previous 3 Months: No Sites undermined 45-1-2762 (Artefact Scatter) *RPS Assessment of Site – No Harm. Upcoming 3 Months: No sites to be undermined Low level subsidence and tilt as a result of mining, does not pose a risk of harm to these sites Fencing activities completed to help mitigate against any potential harm 20

  22. Airly Mine – Rehabilitation & Land Management • Airly Mine does not currently have any land available or subject to rehabilitation works. This is not likely to change until mine closure. • Rehabilitation cost estimate review completed in August 2016. • Weed spraying program implemented and completed during summer 2016-17. This program will resume in Spring 2016. • Surrounding Mine owned land continues to be leased out for agricultural purposes – Cattle grazing systems. • Riparian restoration of Airly Creek on-going. • Tree screen maintenance as required. 22

Airly Mine – Flora, Fauna & Aquatic Ecology Monitoring • No flora or fauna monitoring activities were conducted since last CCC meeting. • Flora and fauna monitoring activities to be conducted by RPS in spring and summer 2016. • REF being prepared for the installation of new subsidence monitoring line in Mugii Murrum-ban SCA above 121 Panel. • Aquatic ecology monitoring to take place in spring 2016. 23

Formal Warning Letter from the EPA, dated 3 March 2016, received 11 1997, Part PIRMP. March 2016, for failure to test PIRMP within a 12 month period. Airly Mines (Requirement 5.7A, Clause Annual Return detailed that the PIRMP was last tested on 12 November to have PIRMP) 153E & 98E. 2014. Airly Mine was non-compliant on 13 November 2015. PIRMP tested on 14 March 2016 and will now be tested annually in line with Annual Return. Incident Summary: Nature of Incident Detail of Incident Detail of Mitigation / Remediation Diesel spill as a result The lead locomotive of an unloaded Diesel was siphoned from the tanks into a self bunded trans tank to of a derailed Pacific Pacific National train derailed shortly after prevent further spillage. Once the locomotive was re-railed and the train National locomotive the point intersection on Airly Mines rail removed, contaminated material was excavated and removed from the site on Airly Mine’s rail loop. The locomotive came to rest on an to a designated waste facility. The spill site was also treated with a loop within ML1331. angle that was suffice to cause diesel to hydrocarbon bio-remediation product to mitigate against any residual spill from the overflow/breather ports of contamination. The area where the spill occurred was on hard compacted the fuel tanks. Less than 200L of diesel ballast and gravel foundations. No diesel migrated from the site. Incident 24 was spilt. was reported to the Enviro-line, EPA, Fire & Rescue, HAZMAT and DRE. Rail repair works have been completed to prevent recurrence.

  25. 6. Community Engagement • Attended and provided updates at the Capertee Valley Progress Association (CVPA) Monthly Meetings; • Train visit to Capertee on the 21 st August 2016. Community Complaints • No community complaints have been received to date in 2016. • Community complaints register for 2016 has now been incorporated into monthly EPL reports which are publically available on the Centennial Airly website.
