Overview of Operations 2017 YTD
- Nil environmental “non compliances” recorded
- Production and productivity levels exceeded both budget and
forecast
- Successful trial of gate road ‘single unit’ development completed at
increased depth under Airly Mesa
- ‘Super unit’ development extended into shallow workings on
western fringe of Genowlan Mesa
- Permanent employment numbers increased from 78 to 82 persons
- Continued to supply domestic customers (Eraring and Delta) and
export customers through Port Waratah Coal Services.
- Undertook major upgrade of underground ventilation infrastructure
- Commitment resources to continuous miner rebuild program,
underground ventilation and conveyor upgrade
- Developed environmental management plans under SSD_5581

Projections for 2017 Operating Context
- Maintain bord and pillar first working operations
employing ‘super unit’ methods in 206 Panel and 207 Panel under Genowlan Mesa
- Undertake gate road development program under Airly
Mesa employing “single unit” methods.
- Gain regulatory approval for conditions contained in the
consent granted for the Airly Extension Project..
- Finalise feasibility report for Phase 2 Mining including:
- Option study on equipment selection near finalisation
- Capital project funding documentation prepared
- Rebuild program commenced for continuous miners

Airly Mine – Noise Monitoring
- Airly Mine has no specific noise monitoring requirements or noise criteria in either
the Project Approval (DA 162/91) or EPL12374.
- Airly Mine is currently preparing a Noise Management Plan (NMP) in accordance
with SSD_5581.
- 2017 noise monitoring is scheduled for October.

Previous 6 Months: One site (45-1-2748) was undermined; monitoring inspections were carried out as per the ACHMP Upcoming 6 Months: Nil Low level subsidence and tilt as a result of mining, does not pose a risk of harm to these sites Fencing activities completed to help mitigate against potential harm

- A pre-mining inspection of site 45-
1-2748 was completed on 28 March 2017.
- No mining induced impacts to
the site were evident during the pre-mining inspection
- A post-mining inspection of site 45-
1-2748 was carried out on 17 August 2017.
- No mining related disturbance
were evident during the
- inspection. All RAPs were
satisfied with the condition of the site.
Airly Mine – Rehabilitation & Land Management
- Airly Mine does not currently have any land available or subject to rehabilitation
- works. This is not likely to change until mine closure.
- Updated rehabilitation cost estimate was sent to DRE on 31 March 2017.
- A revised MOP/RMP has been developed and has been submitted for consultation
and approval.
- Spring/Summer 2017-18 weed spraying program will recommence in October.
- Surrounding Mine owned land continues to be leased out for agricultural purposes.
- Riparian restoration of Airly Creek on-going. Tube stock scheduled for Spring.
- Tree screen maintenance conducted as required.

- Flora and fauna monitoring activities are
conducted by RPS in spring and summer.
- Aquatic ecology monitoring activities were
conducted in May 2017. And are scheduled again for October 2017.
- Stygofauna monitoring was conducted in
August 2017. No stygofauna present.
