Mining Operations Update (July – October 2015) • Achieved all Key Indicators for Health, Safety and Environmental performance • Maintained bord and pillar development mining systems - 121 Panel “super unit” - 103 Panel “single unit” - 200 Panel “pillar quartering” • Production levels continue to achieve budget and forecast • Employee numbers increased by 1 persons to 64 • Process improvements initiatives continue to deliver increased productivity and lower operating cost. • Focus on monitoring and improving coal quality and awareness of marketing options • Currently supplying both domestic (Eraring) and export customers through Port Kembla and Newcastle • Feasibility study on Phase 2 Mining Development continued 3

AIRLY MINE OUTLOOK • Continue coal supply to domestic market and progress blending opportunity for export markets • Undertake planned exploration program for 2015 • Await decision on Airly Extension Project following P.A.C meeting • Maintain environmental monitoring program in accordance with E.I.S • Evaluate underground strata monitoring program • Expand groundwater and surface water monitoring network • Complete feasibility study on Phase 2 mining 6

Environmental Management • Work has begun on tree plantings for the Torbane Road tree screen. • Spring aquatic ecology monitoring to be conducted in October/November 2015. • Global Acoustics to conduct annual noise monitoring in October 2015. • Spring/Summer weed spraying program to get underway in October 2015. • EPA site inspection scheduled for 28/10/2015. Focus on surface water control structures. 8

  11. Exploration/Ground-water Monitoring • Airly’s exploration drilling program in the SCA has been delayed. Commencement of this program will be dictated by Departmental Approval and the bushfire season. • The Review of Environmental Factors (REF) for the 2015 Drilling Program is currently being amended as per National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPSW) requests. • Following NPWS’s determination, the amended REF will be sent to the Department of Trade and Investment, Regional Infrastructure and Services - Division of Resources and Energy (DRE) and NSW Office of Water for approval. 11

COMMUNITY ACTIVITY • NSW Planning and Assessment Commission (PAC) held a public hearing for the Airly Mine Extension on the 23 rd September 2015 at the Union Theatre, Lithgow; • Attended and provided updates at Local Land Services meeting held at Glen Alice Hall on the 14 th July 2015; • Attended and provided updates at the Capertee and District Progress Association Monthly Meetings; • Assisted with improvement works at the Capertee Community Hall. • Sponsorship: Kandos/Rylstone Show, Capertee Public School, Wild Dog Association. 15
