What is the After school program? • A Fairfax County Public School program designed to give added support, both academic and non- academic, to students to foster better success in and out of the classroom.
After School participants must… • …Abide by all Fairfax County Public Schools; Students Rights & Responsibility at all times after school. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary actions, which can include the loss of all non-academic based after school program participation!
Start and End Date • Projected Start Date: September 25, 2018 • End Date: May 23, 2019(Last Day for buses)
When does After school meet? • Late Bus Days: Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 2:25 p.m.-4:35 p.m. • Extended Day Activities( ACADEMIC ONLY & Prearranged with the teacher ) *Monday/Friday 2:25 p.m.-4:45 p.m. *parents MUST provide transportation.
How many sessions are After School? • A session: 2:25 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. • B session: 3:35 p.m. – 4:35 p.m. Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday Only *Snacks provided at the beginning of B session. If your child has food allergies, please send them to school with a snack.
Can a student stay after with a teacher and then come to After school • Absolutely! All students staying after for a specific teacher may join any activity afterwards, provided they have a signed pass from that teacher!!
What days are late bus days? • Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays starting at 4:30 pm. All teachers will escort their students to the cafeteria. We will send students to their bus from the cafeteria.
If a student does not ride a late bus where are they picked up? • Door Entrance 1 (Front of the school) Students must be picked up by 5:00. • Walkers may leave whenever they are done with their activity, even if it’s after the first session.

Typical After School Activities and Events • Extended Day Program, FCCLA, Gaming Club, Girls Scouts of America(STEM), Go to Green Club, Gridiron & Great Books, Library Media Center, Makerspace Club
Typical After School Activities and Events • Math Club, NJHS, Pawsitivity Helpful Squad, Running Club, Sandburg Ambassadors, SCA, Soccer, Spoken Word, Tap Dance, Theatre Sports, Weight Lifting/Cardio, Young Scholars/AAP
Other Clubs that will need a parent Sponsor • Odyssey of the Mind • Computer Programming • Anything that will help cultivate our students and community.
