- The dual cutting structure bit combines the cutting efficiencies of
a PDC Bit with the extended life capabilities of an Impregnated Bit.
- Drillers often reach hard and abrasive formations at the end of a
long fixed cutter drillable section with a decline in drilling efficiencies and requirements for additional bits as they wear
- ut. With the dual action bit, the fixed cutting structure enables
high cutting efficiency in the fixed cutter drillable section, while the impregnated cutting structure starts interacting with the abrasive formation once the fixed cutter wears out.
- The result is a high performance drilling process, increased ROP
in both non-abrasive and abrasive formations and runs completed to TD reducing the need for a second bit.
