Submission Information Continued

  • Applicants must have credentials entered into the

EGMS

  • To register (get credentials) as a new user in EGMS, you

will need: – FEIN (Tax ID #) of your organization – DUNS number – SAM expiration date

  • Central Data section must be complete in order for an

application to be submitted

  • Start this process early so you can be in the system

when you’re ready to submit your application!

Program Requirements

  • Organize and host a three-week summer institute for

District high school teachers – Focus will be on high school environmental science coursework

  • Facilitate a community of practice for high school science

teachers interested in improving coursework – OSSE makes final selection of cadre members AND pays them a stipend (separate from this grant)

  • Guide cadre members to produce teaching resources
  • Provide OSSE with recommendations regarding adoption of

grade-level experiences

Project Vision and Implementation Plan

  • Description of vision, measurable goals, and objectives of the institute.
  • Implementation and delivery plan, with timeline of milestones.
  • How you will assist OSSE recruit cadre members and form community of practice.
  • Plan to address challenges.
  • Description of resources required and need for grant funds.
  • Role of partnering organizations and how partners will collaborate.

30 Summary of Qualifications

  • Evidence of past performance conducting teacher institutes.
  • Experience working with high school teachers.
  • Demonstrated commitment to implementation of NGSS and Environmental Literacy Plan.

15 Teacher, Student, and Community Impacts

  • How teachers and students will be impacted by grant activities.
  • How community will be involved in the project.
  • How resources developed will be disseminated to all environmental science teachers.

20 Cost-effectiveness of Budget

  • Clear description of costs and how costs were determined.

Award Administration

  • Award notification no later than Feb. 28, 2017
  • Grantees expected to respond to inquiries and

requests from OSSE and the Environmental Literacy Coordinator throughout the grant period

  • Grants will be monitored through site visits and project

reports

  • All invoicing and reporting will be done through EGMS

  • Type out your narrative then copy/paste into EGMS

– Bullets, numbering, and special formatting are not transferred when you copy/paste

  • Save often in EGMS
  • Start early!
  • Use scoring rubric to inform your responses
