- Nominations invited
- Selection Criteria
– Available? – Engaging? – Good writing? – Relevant to students? – Broad potential for use – Programming potential?
Day of Event Goals
- Begin Welcome Week with an academic focus.
- Provide a common academic experience
- Provide an opportunity for students to
interact with faculty outside the classroom.
- Allow students to experience a college-level
discussion in a non-threatening atmosphere.
- Create a sense of community by increasing
student-to-student and student-to-instructor interactions.
Day of Event Learning Outcomes
- Participants will be introduced to and have an
increased awareness of the expectations of higher education and the University.
- Students will feel supported through their
transition into the campus community through an academic and social experience.
- Students will see relevance to participating in
academic experiences outside a classroom setting.
