  8. WINDSOR SCULPTURE PARK The WINDSOR SCULPTURE PARK is open year-round. Free Admission. Parking available within / throughout park. Showcases over 30 large-scale , internationally recognized works of contemporary sculpture by world-renowned artists. You can explore in person, hop aboard the Art Cart , or use our Outdoor Sculptures & Monuments Mapp to view and learn about our 100+ Sculptures & Monuments located through our community. PRESERVING OUR COLLECTION Since our last Cultural Summit in 2016: 11 students specializing in artefact conservation & preservation have worked on our sculpture collection 87 deep clean wash and wax treatments have been completed on our sculptures, monuments and memorials as part of the conservation and preservation work being done each summer 11 new works have been added to our collection, located in spaces throughout the community 13 community events have taken place to help educate the public about conservation and preservation techniques; this includes our popular annual “ Tembo Wash Day ” TELLING OUR STORIES... TELLING OUR STORIES Since our last Cultural Summit in 2016: 30+ events, readings, publications, etc. involved - directly or indirectly - Windsor’s Poet Laureate 5 entries have been researched, designed and added to the Windsor Culture Map’s Community Stories section Windsor’s Poet Laureate Program has been a resounding success. Since its inception in 2011, the program has grown from one position to three. This year, Marty Gervais becomes Poet Laureate Emeritus, we welcome our next Poet Laureate , and we name our fjrst Youth Poet Laureate. THE ACHF PROGRAM Since the launch of the Arts, Culture + Heritage Fund (ACHF) Grant Program in 2014: 354 applications have been submitted by individuals and organizations seeking ACHF project funding 180 individual projects have been funded through the ACHF Grant Program $436,000 has been awarded in project funding to local arts, culture & heritage individuals / groups for projects 21 respected members of the local arts, culture and heritage community have served as ACHF jurors TELLING OUR STORIES... MUSEUM WINDSOR Since our last Cultural Summit in 2016: 45,057 people have visited and explored exhibitions at our Museum Windsor sites 7,200 is the approximate number of school children & adults who participated in museum education programs 1,015 new artifacts have been acquired for the Museum Windsor Collection; with 3,499 new records entered into the museum’s online database Award The Museum Windsor Expansion Project was awarded the 2017 prestigious Russell K.   14. WILLISTEAD MANOR Since our last Cultural Summit in 2016: $1.95 was invested in Willistead Manor’s signifjcant restoration project in 2017 and 2018. Funding came from the million City of Windsor ($1.5 million) and the Government of Canada’s ‘Canada 150’ grant program ($450,000) approx. people explored Willistead Manor for weddings, receptions, meetings and conferences, celebrations, showers, special 60,000 programs, public and private tours and community festivals and events (such as Art in the Park and Doors Open) NEW Through our special Arts, Culture and Heritage Rates for non-prime (non-weekend) rentals, new audiences have audiences been exposed to the manor through the “At the Manor” new appreciation series (“Yoga”, “Poetry”, “Opera” and more) TELLING OUR STORIES...
