  • Lowest Risk: Students and teachers engage in virtual-only classes,

activities, and events.

  • More Risk: Small, in-person classes, activities, and events. Groups of

students stay together and with the same teacher throughout/across school days and groups do not mix. Students remain at least 6 feet apart and do not share objects (e.g., hybrid virtual and in-person class structures, or staggered/rotated scheduling to accommodate smaller class sizes).

  • Highest Risk: Full sized, in-person classes, activities, and events.

Students are not spaced apart, share classroom materials or supplies, and mix between classes and activities.

support a student centered, high quality instructional practice.

  • The Focus: Assessment, Curriculum, Intervention, Efficacy of interventions and

Evaluation of the effectiveness of either Hybrid or Remote learning.

  • Informing the Plan:

○ Health and Safety Processes and Procedures: CDC, NYS, NYSED guidance on how we can continue to teach our students, remotely or face to face and/or the hybrid model.

Reference 5.02

Westbury UFSD All Roads Lead to a Healthy, Strong and Bold Reentry

Model # 1 Hybrid Learning: Face-to Face & Remote Model # 3: 100% Remote Learning

  • This model will be utilizing remote learning and face to face

learning to provide continuous education for all our students.

  • Curriculum revisions will be made to identify priority standards

from the prior grade to the incoming grade for grades K-12 to ensure we plan instruction that builds the bridge from one grade to the next.

  • All students will be assessed for any possible regression and

re-teaching needs to address specific needs.

  • A consistent virtual presence will be maintained using the Google

Classroom and Google Meet.

  • Planning for an A/B day approach will ensure consistency so as

to minimize interruptions to daily operations of schools for students, families and staff.

  • This model will be used if NYS is still under the Governor’s’

Executive Order to educate our students through 100% remote learning.

  • If start the year off in 100% remote learning model OR

there is a necessity to transition to one, we will utilize Google Classroom and Google Meet for the live delivery of instruction and communication daily as noted in model #1.

  • We have designed an instructional framework that will

support a seamless transition for teaching and learning from a hybrid model to a 100% remote model.
