▪ South Pacific Seeds New Zealand was formed as a specialist vegetable seed company in 1992. ▪ The head office and seed processing facility is located in Methven, in the centre of the Canterbury Plains. The South Island of New Zealand offers a great range of climatic and latitude environments. ▪ The climate of Eastern New Zealand is strongly influenced by a large mountain range to the West and the nearby ocean to the East. The long coastline provides a moderating influence to the climate and allows plants to survive the winter. ▪ Inland areas experience much colder winter conditions and provide good environmental conditions for crops that require deep vernalisation for even bolting.

▪ SPS is continuously trying to improve management methods through agrichemical, fertiliser and planting trials on a variety of crops. ▪ SPS offers a counter season opportunity for customers to have grow out trials and purity testing evaluations. ▪ Our own trial sites test pre-production varieties and suitability trials for future New Zealand productions.
