  • nly water.

Behaviour

 A copy of our behaviour policy is available on our

website.

 It is important that we work together as a partnership and

that you understand how behaviour issues are dealt with at school.

 At St Andrews we promote positive behaviour throughout

and we have many positive reinforcements in place. For example in Year 5 we have raffle tickets and team points.

Open door policy

 St Andrews operates an open door policy. It is important that if

you have any issues or concerns, you come and discuss them with the class teacher.

 Please understand that first thing in the morning when the door

is opened or when the teacher is seeing the children out at the end of day is not always the most convenient time to discuss matters.

 If it is urgent or important, then please write a note and hand it

to the class teacher. Otherwise you can call the office to make an appointment with the class teacher or for them to call you back.

 If you still require further discussions or advice, then please see

the Year 5/6 Phase Leader – Mrs Richardson.

Parent Partnership

 Reading

 We expect that your child reads each night.  Comprehension skills are very important. Please discuss your

child’s reading book with them and ask questions about the text they have read.

 Reading Books should be changed at least once a week

 Spelling

 Spellings will be given out on Mondays for a test on Fridays.  We look at patterns and do practise in school but please

encourage good practise at home too!
