- The school day has 10 periods and it begins with an Advisory period of 30
minutes.
- Each class is 42 minutes long.
- Lunch and Advisory are 30 minutes.

**Advanced class placement is based on MAP scores, Local Assessments, and Teacher
- recommendation. (approximate MAP scores of students who are successful in advanced
classes is the 86th percentile or above) **Questions about recommendations should be directed toward the students current 6th grade teacher. If you are requesting a class different than what is recommended please fill out the chart on the front. Your request will be considered by the staff at the middle school.

- Home access opens January 24th.
- Check your child’s courses and make your elective
choice on Home Access Center by Monday, February 3rd.
- Sheets are due back to their current 6th grade teachers by
Tuesday, February 4th. (Home access closes)
- Plan to attend Step Up Night at Yorkville Middle School
- n Wednesday, April 15th 6pm-7pm
- All 6th graders will visit and tour YMS before Step Up
Night the week of March 31st.
- Registration is August 5th
- Locker Fest is August 11th
