What is SRGS? ● Summer Residential Governor’s Schools focus on one special area of interest Students live on a campus for up to 4 weeks each summer ● ● Students are involved in classroom and laboratory work, field studies, research, individual and group projects and performances, and seminars with noted scholars, visiting artists, and other professionals ● In the three mentorships, students are selected to work side-by-side with research scientists, physicians, and a variety of other professionals ● A director and a student-life staff provide supervision of students 24 hours a day, throughout the program. ● VDOE SRGS page
How do i get to participate? Today...sign in on the interest sheet Soon...get the application for the area you are interested in and start filling it out. We will have HELP sessions in November/December to assist you! Teacher recommendations-ask early, ask more than 2 ★ Essay (follow prompt in each application) ★ Activities/Awards brainstorming ★ DUE January 9th ... completed application to Mrs. Blackwell February...FCHS Selection Committee sends 2 nominations to state level Mid April...find out if you got in!!
