6th Grade Course Requirements
7 Class Periods at KMS 4 Core Classes RELA—Reading /English/Language Arts Math Science Social Studies
Students choose the level of each core class: On-Level or PreAP.

- Math, RELA, Science, and Social Studies
- These core courses prepare students for
college and post-secondary instruction using a variety of teaching strategies, student activities, and assessments. Course Planning Guide

Pre-AP Classes
- Math, RELA, Science, and Social Studies
- These advanced courses move at a
faster pace, are more academically challenging, and require more independent learning than on-level courses.
- PreAP Math covers 6th grade level and a portion
- f 7th grade. Students must take PreAP for
Math to be eligible for Algebra in 8th grade.
