WHAT WE DO As everyone is automatically allocated their own private vehicle when they stay with us, it only makes sense to complement this with a top-class guiding team. To optimise your experience, our guides work together with a spotter: an invaluable extra pair of eyes to ceaselessly scan the landscape while your guide focuses on navigating the terrain, and translating the inner workings of the wilderness to you. In this way, ‘book-knowledge’ plus an ancient system acquired over an age of living the wild life interweaves seamlessly to form a rich tapestry of knowledge to share 6

SERIAN’S NKOROMBO ● Open all year round. ● Preferred airstrip: Musiara. ● A private campsite in the Masai Mara Reserve. ● Style: Traditional Tented Camp ● 4 tents + Suite ● Located adjacent to a prolific salt lick; often attracts black rhino Lion, leopard and old bull Buffalo. ● Around the river-bend is one of the wildebeest river-crossing points – a prime spot between July and November.
THE BIRTHING SEASON - December to April It’s the wildebeest birthing season, which means that between 300,000 and 400,000 calves are born; this entire new generation is born within a 4 - 6 week period – the theory being that with such a glut, predators will eat their fill, and thereafter the rest of the babies survive – hence the spectacular big cat viewing and prolific predation at this time of year. The plains literally come to life for the birthing season. Millions of gnus and zebra dominate the landscape, looking for the fresh green grass that follows the first rains - and to give birth to their young.
SERIAN’S SERENGETI SOUTH ● Open 15th December to 30th April. ● Preferred airstrip: Mwiba. ● Set in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, on the southernmost tip of the short-grass plains. ● 4 tents + 2 Suites. ● Style: Traditional Tented Camp ● Seclusion 40km from the nearest camp ● Off-road driving, night drives and the opportunity to walk and fly camp with Hadzabe hunter-gatherers make this a very special place.
