Purpose

On March 27, 2020, the federal government approved the CARES Act which provided $5 billion for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and $4 billion for the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program. HUD has abbreviated the program names as CDBG-CV and ESG-CV. For ESG-CV, the first $1 billion has been allocated based on the regular program formula resulting in $662,721 for Washington

  • County. For CDBG-CV, the first $2 billion has been allocated

based on the regular formula resulting in $1,311,034 for Washington County. HOME has not been allocated additional resources, however, allowed percentages for CHDO Operating and administration have been increased, resulting in a redistribution of funds.

  • Submit the funding request to HUD along with the Substantial

amendment.

  • Begin contracting with selected agencies
