Project Background

The Town of Essex, with assistance from the CCRPC, is conducting this scoping study to evaluate existing conditions at the intersection of Allen Martin Drive and VT315 (Jericho Road). Outcomes for this study:

  • Assessment of existing traffic and safety conditions
  • Consideration of public input over the course of the study
  • Development and evaluation of build alternatives: short, medium and long

term

  • Preliminary cost estimates for future engineering, admin, and construction
  • Preferred alternatives for implementation, if warranted
  • A clear and concise report that documents this process

Two Alternative Paths

  • “Do Nothing” is always

an option

  • Can pursue all medium

term options and decide signal control mechanism at a later date

  • Medium term options are

in direction of signal

  • Fewer medium term

alternatives would be used in roundabout
