Dear Junior Food Technologists, I am pleased to inform you that your team has been short- listed by world renowned food company ABC Food Industries to participate in its annual Best Junior Food Technologists Team Award

  • 2008. This privileged participation will be a boost to an advanced

promotion as Senior Food Technologists should you succeed in meeting its requirements. Your team will be assessed on both practical and theoretical aspects of food science. Your team would be required to produce a bread product. An

  • ral presentation illustrating the recipe and procedural steps

undertaken is to be provided. You also have to include the functional purposes of each ingredient present in your bread as well as address any possible faults in your bread making. Last but not least, a Question-and-Answer by the panel of judges will be conducted. You are given the autonomy to present your information in a mode of presentation of your choice. A month is given for each team to prepare for this world renowned competition. This preparation is essential and crucial as you will need to get your original recipe and ingredients ready. Team work and collaborative efforts would also form the other part of the assessment. I look forward to seeing and tasting your creation. Meanwhile, get creative and co-operative! All the best to you for this competition! Yours truly, Innovative Food Scientists Committee

Problem The year is 2040. Imagine that you are an astronaut who has been appointed to search for an alternative planet for the human race to continue its survival after Earth is unable to sustain any living organisms. In order to do your job well, you will need to find

  • ut about the conditions of planet Earth before it

had deteriorated to its conditions in 2090 where it was no longer able to sustain living organisms well…before global warming had engulfed planet Earth. As humans are intelligent being, your commanding

  • fficer has mentioned that you would also need to

propose how we, humans, would be able to adapt to different conditions of your explored planet in

  • rder to survive.

You are going to present your finding about your planet with other space explorers. Present your information about the planet in a comic life

  • presentation. Include details on the conditions of

that planet in your comic life presentation. You will also present to your space explorer colleagues a 3- D design of the adaptations that you recommend

  • f the planet. Include details on what the

adaptations are and why the adaptations are made
