Challenges

Giving feedback on speaking It’s hard to monitor speaking. There’s not enough time to set up engaging speaking activities. My learners are uncomfortable speaking in the classroom. I can’t provide useful feedback to all.

Class profile

30 learners | 14/15 years old | English for 2 hours/week | B1 level

Speaking is the weakest skill for 75% of the class.

They need more practice and tailored feedback.

Just over two thirds of the learners are reluctant to speak in class.

They need to feel less pressure to produce spontaneous speech.

A small group of learners are more able and more confident.

They could be challenged further.
