Why is spelling important?

  • Life long learners
  • But won’t they just be using

technology to help them spell in the future?

  • Secondary school ready
  • Reducing Cognitive Load

– The brain can only do so much at a certain time (Sweller) – Cognitive Load Theory says that because short-term memory is limited, learning experiences should be designed to reduce working memory ‘load’ in order to promote learning.
