  2. FNE-Finland Ltd • Finnish nationwide backbone operator • Founded 2000 • Balance 12,2 M € • Revenue 4 M € • Employees 5 • Offices: Vantaa and Seinäjoki • Services: – Fibre connections – DWDM connections – IP-transit – TV channel transit – MPLS VPN (p2p, p2mp)

  3. Remote connection to TREX • TREX VPLS is an alternative method to connect to the TREX exchange. • FNE-Finland Ltd provides a remote connection to the Unicast Peering VLAN nationwide via FNE MPLS backbone and local operators. • The connection is implemented using VPLS technology. Traffic between two TREX VPLS members takes the most direct route within FNE backbone and does not enter the TREX switch matrix at all.

  4. Restrictions for TREX VPLS TREX VPLS is not a full TREX membership class. • The primary difference is that it is only for access to Unicast Peering (IPv4 & IPv6). Each TREX VPLS customer gets one IPv4 address • and one IPv6 address for the peering VLAN. Traffic is limited on the customer connection to • one MAC address (router mac).
