― OPGW is most suitable where Ground wire is available. ― Existing ground wire (9.75/11 mm) is replaced by OPGW (12-13.5 mm) ― The loading of OPGW is taken care in case of new transmission line design ― ADSS is additional wire along the transmission line (13-15 mm) ― Installation of these cables on existing transmission lines may require tower analysis and tower strengthening ― Installation is carried out live line ― OPGW is best suitable proven technology for EHV lines  ADSS is suitable in lower voltage lines
