  17. Sample module descriptions Management Work and Society In modern society work is important for economic and social wellbeing, playing a central part in our lives. This core module builds on management theory studied in year one, exploring contemporary issues in the workplace and how to deal with them from a management perspective. You will be assessed by an individual essay on a given topic from term one (worth 50% of module marks) and an exam (worth 50% of module marks) based on topics studied throughout the year. Leadership: Process and Organisations The module examines leadership theory and approaches with an understanding of the challenges involved in leading and renewing organisations in today’s increasingly complex and dynamic global environment. You will be introduced to models, theories and research in leadership, organisations and decision- making. Techniques for analysing organisation’s intra - relationships will be developed over the course of the programme of study. There are opportunities to develop your own group and individual leadership and followership skills. Assessment for the module will be by two pieces of written coursework (each worth 20% of the module marks) and an exam (worth 60% of module marks).

Tuition fees and finance Tuition fees • Tuition Fees: £9,000 (€ 12,500) per year but you only begin paying back when you earn more than £21,000 (€ 29,000) per year. • Bursaries: £500 (€ 700) for students with a family income up to £15,000 (€ 20,800) • Important information: – No fees in advance – You only pay back when you earn enough – You also have access to student loans
