WHAT IS AN APPRENTICE?

An apprentice is someone who learns a skilled trade on the job, under the direction of more experienced workers. Apprentices also complete classroom instruction as a part of their training. Apprentices are employees, and earn a salary while they learn a skilled trade.

Jamie McMillan, accomplished iron worker, North American key note speaker, and fierce advocate for women in trades will be visiting Vanier and giving a presentation with all the information you need to know about the trades. She is coming on October 10th during Period 2.
