CONTEXT TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT RELATIONSHIPS

What are the local challenges facing your community and how do you know about them? Local policy aims? Lived experience? Elected members concerns? What are the existing health and social care referral pathways, how does a project align with these? Identifying groups/networks of individuals who share your objectives (artists networks, care managers networks for example). People work with

  • people. Face to face.

Our projects have built these ‘working groups’ to oversee development, delivery and evaluation. Develop a shared language. Relationships take time. Willingness to be

  • pen and explore

non-standard possibilities. Try a different solution based on people’s strengths and assets not deficits and problems. We are all learning – take a step back from being ‘expert’ and allow yourself to break away from your normal ways of working. Testing projects in a local context can help to establish a culture of joint problem solving and thinking clever – empowering people in their roles (not hierarchical or top down)
