Transformation of Bothalia to African Biodiversity & Conservation

The communication from the CEO went out on 23 May 2011. 25 August 2011 the Journal Working Group of SANBI makes the decision that the new journal will be made available via free open access. The final issues of Bothalia will appear in May and October 2012. A decision was also made that a call for expression of interest for an external publisher will be advertised. The final decision on whether it will be implemented will rest with the Journal Working Group and will depend on the available funds. The journal will not lose its ISI rating.
