The company was founded in 1975 as OMETE by the current President and Managing Director C. Kostikas, Civil Engineer, P. Kremezis and G. Iakovidis, Civil Engineers as well and initially

• perated in the form of General Partnership. In 1989 the

company changed its legal form to SA and it has been operating as OMETE SA ever since. The company’s headquarters are situated in 64, Asklipiou Str, in the city center of Athens, in a privately owned building of 700 square meters. The staff employed on a permanent basis is 35 persons, including the shareholders. In the forty years of its operation the company has had continuous presence and substantial participation in major private and public infrastructure projects constructed in Greece. The company’s activities cover the planning, design, supervision, tendering and construction management of buildings, such as industrial buildings, bridges, tanks, water treatment facilities, retaining structures, underground structures, tunnels, silos, repairs. OMETE SA is acknowledged for its high quality services in the field of Design Civil Engineering Studies especially regarding Building and Transportation Projects. Since 1995 OMETE SA has expanded its activities in the fields of Geotechnical and Tunneling Design Studies. More specifically, in 2000 the subsidiary company OMETE EDAFOSTATIKI SA is founded, which operates exclusively in these areas. Since November 1997 the company applies a Quality Management System in all operational procedures and services which complies with the International Standard EN ISO 9001

AREAS OF ACTIVITY

The company's activities apply in the following areas: STRUCTURAL DESIGN The company's main activity covers the entire range of structural design for both public and private infrastructure projects, with great expertise in the design of building and industrial plants, as well as in transportation projects, either underground or aboveground, such as metro stations. GEOTECHNICAL DESIGN The company has expanded in the field of geotechnical designs with reference to tunnels, retaining walls, bulkheads, special foundations etc. These studies are also part of the projects undertaken by the subsidiary company, OMETE EDAFOSTATIKI SA. REPAIRS – STRUCTURAL DAMAGE ENHANCING Another sector, in which the company specializes, is the repair and enhancing of bearing structures of reinforced concrete with damages caused by earthquakes, fires, excessive loads and other circumstances. The company’s know‐how concerning the earthquake damage was acquired due to the large number of projects undertaken by OMETE after the earthquakes of Thessaloniki in 1979, Athens in 1981 and 1999, Kalamata in 1986 and West Peloponnesus in 1989. TRADITIONAL BUILDINGS AND MONUMENTS This activity involves the enhancement, repair and even the restoration of traditional buildings’ and monuments’ bearing bodies constructed of masonry, woodwork or a combination of an old structure with a new reinforced concrete for modern purposes. SUPERVISION The company undertakes the supervision of constructions that have been designed according to our own studies or projects executed by other entities. PROJECT / CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT The company also undertakes on behalf of public or private organizations: 1) The Review of studies executed by other scholars, 2) The drafting of tender documentations and technical specifications for construction projects, 3) The technical supervision of construction, 4) The time schedule and financial planning of the construction process. 5) The entire construction monitoring. CONCESSION PROJECTS The company participates in projects of: a) Public ‐ Private Partnership (PPP), b) Independent Engineer and c) Banks as a Technical Consultant. SPECIAL ISSUES The special issues include a variety of occasional expert evidences, technical reports, and consultancy services in relation to structural stability problems or damages, the proper use of materials, the compilation of technical specifications etc. CONSULTANCY SERVICES Owing to the high degree of expertise and specialization in the abovementioned areas, the company is often appointed to act as a consultant to various large

PERSONNEL Apart from the main partners, the following people are employed on a permanent basis: 17 Civil Engineers, 3 Civil Engineers (Technical Educational Institute graduates), 7 designers, 2 Accountants, 4 Secretaries. Depending on the nature and the extent of the work, the company has the ability to increase its human resources via cooperation with Special Partners. TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT OMETE SA provides fully computerized services and for this purpose it owns the following technical equipment (Hardware and Software). Drafting Programs: AUTOCAD, REVIT Programmes WORD, EXCEL, MS PROJECT, POWERPOINT, OUTLOOK in WINDOWS environment.
