Co Conclu lusio ion

▪ The majority of silicosis cases (837) were reported from gold sector in 2014 which was then followed by a decrease in the number of cases reported in the subsequent years. ▪ The highest number of Pulmonary Tuberculosis (PTB) cases was noted in gold sector with 1697 cases reported in 2014 followed by platinum sector in 2015. ▪ The platinum sector reported the highest Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) cases (535) in 2017 compared to cases reported from other sectors. ▪ The high number of deaths due to occupational diseases were reported in the gold sector. ▪ Mines are encouraged to continue submitting the statutory reports even during the COVID- 19 pandemic.
