Annual Cancer Survey • Comprehensive Baseline Questionnaire – Medical/Cancer History – Cancer Risk Behaviors – Cancer Screening Behaviors – Occupational History – Environmental Exposures • Blood draws are being collected from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue firefighters
Purpose • Ultimate goal is to create a database of the risks and behaviors of all Florida Firefighters • Eventually will be able to link with FCDS data to study specific occupational exposures
2016 Linkage Project • Augment ~100,000 firefighter records with gender, date of birth, and most importantly social security number • Link with cancer registry records • Link with vital statistics records • Will serve as an important baseline to monitor future cancer trends in the fire service.
