WRITTEN APTITUDE TEST (CPS), WRITTEN ASSESSMENT TEST (OS), PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST All eligible candidates are given the opportunity to participate in the testing components. Candidates are responsible for the administration fees associated with the testing components. WRITTEN APTITUDE TEST (CPS) (Cooperative Personnel Services Test) This Written Aptitude Test assesses the candidate’s knowledge, skills and aptitudes necessary to succeed as a firefighter in today’s environment. A series of questions, divided into sections, gauge the candidates’ understanding of written and oral information, arithmetic reasoning, maps, diagrams and mechanical drawings. The Written Aptitude Test is administered to candidates using an established time limit for completion.
