Who are the Friends?

• We are a Voluntary Group who support extra curricular activities

here at St Martin’s

• We are of Dads, Mums, Teachers, Grandparents & x-Student/x-Parents
• You may see us referred to as FOSM

(Friends of St Martin’s)

What do we do for our Children?

• The FOSM prepare and put on events to make our children’s time at St

Martin’s more enjoyable, like the Christmas Bazaar, Alice’s Tea Party & School Discos

• We support and help run events with the School staff – St Martin’s Got

Talent

• FOSM’s put on other fund raising events like Bags2School,

Mother’s & Father’s Day Gift Stalls

• In the past we’ve also held events like Picnic on the Field & Quiz Nights
• We’ve also thought of idea’s such as “Movie Night” & “Car Boot Sales”

Why have we brought you here ?

• For some coffee and a biscuit!!
• To inform you of WHAT WE DO and WHY … Our Children Come first!
• Ask you for help – as much or as little as you can give

Ø We are all busy, trying to balance a house, work, children’s homework, after school activities Ø All of us are the same !!

• Events just don’t happen, it takes behind the scenes work !!

Ø Any time you can give us … Share your ideas at meetings for NEW events for our children or “spice up” an existing event Ø Donate an 1 hour to help us prepare for an event – paint, wrap presents, wherever you have interest (you don’t have to be in the spotlight – there is plenty of behind the scene activities)

• Events just don’t happen – Events need on the day support!

Help us serve coffee, help run a stall, meet and greet the children & families

Ø

There are lots of things to do – and lots of fun too

What’s Next ??? 2015 – Christmas Bazaar

• December 4 is only 45 days from now !!!

We must start planning for the Christmas Bazaar

• What needs to happen – lots before the even
• Raffle Donations letters must go out
• Tombola Prizes
• Get letters out for “Adopt a Bear” donations
• Decide if we will have a toy / book stall this year
• Create layout for Stalls – advertise for outside stalls
• Decide if we want to have Bazaar in both KS1 & KS2 halls or just KS2
• Decide theme for 2015 Photograph stall … etc.
• Rotor for who will help setup – behind scenes
• Rotor for who will help man stalls on the night – make the night super

special for our children

• We Need You
• The people who put on these events all have jobs, families and very busy

schedules, but we still need you!!

• Be thankful and happy to give your precious time to make your childs

stay at St Martin’s the BEST THAT IT CAN BE!!!

• We are not asking for huge amounts of time – any

help
