A Special Message From Your Principals Dear Middle School Parents and Guardians, As September nears, we know that many of you and your children have been awaiting information about the 2020-2021 school year. Dr. Rogers has shared with the community the plan for middle school students to return to school for full days and we wanted to add to the district FAQ’s our developing plans to welcome all middle students back to our communities whether attending school in person or learning from home. This presentation outlines in “first edition” format what our middle school program will look like for the upcoming school year. We will add to this as time goes on and email you updates as we are able. This is just the beginning. If you have general program questions, please feel welcome to email us. If you have questions regarding your individual student, please email his/her guidance counselor. Sixth grade families: Please save the date of August 31st! We are preparing a virtual orientation for you, which may be a pre-recorded presentation or a live virtual experience. More details to come soon. Please enjoy the remaining days of summer.   5. What Will Classes Be Like? Students will take a majority of their courses with a group of peers in a family setting called a “Homebase Cohort.” Students will leave their cohorts for Music, PE, World Language, and support classes. 5

  6. Teachers will come to the Homebase Cohort locations period by period to teach. Your Homebase Cohort will be your Advisory. Teachers will collaborate to teach across Homebase Cohorts remotely when classroom capacity splits a cohort into two locations. 6
