Defjnition: User Journey

A user journey tells the story of how a user experiences a product, service or offering through the use of pictures, sketches or illustrations. Similar to creating a prototype before building a fjnal functional product, the user journey serves as a tool to communicate a new idea to others as well as think through how the offering will work. A good way to approach thinking about the user experience is to think in these terms:

  • What is it like for a new user experiencing the offering for the fjrst time?
  • How does their interaction and use change as they learn and

become familiar with the offering?

  • How might they use the offering with other products in their life?
  • What is the fjnal experience of offering?

While there are endless questions of this sort to consider, think of the primary “use cases” of your concept.
