Summary of Primary ETAT Reviewer Concerns

Social/Cultural Resources

  • Potential right-of-way acquisition of commercial, residential, or recreation properties
  • Potential to impact parks and historic properties, considered Section 4(f) resources

Natural Resources

  • Stormwater runoff has potential to impact surface waters and wetlands
  • Gulf Islands National Seashore is a Florida Outstanding Water requiring high protection
  • Valuable habitats including estuarine salt marsh and sea grass beds in project area
  • Multiple Federal and State threatened and endangered species potentially present and

protection measures must be in place for each

  • Essential Fish Habitat within project area and will require coordination with NMFS

Physical Resources

  • Potentially contaminated sites near the corridor must be evaluated
  • Bridge must meet required clearances and obtain USCG permit
