  2. Small Fishers Federation of Lanka • The Small Fishers Federation was set up in 1992 as a development network of small-scale fishing and farming community organization in Sri Lanka. Small- scale fishers and farmers who are considered as most socially and economically vulnerable groups, are engaged in fishing in shallow waters of the sea and also inland fishing areas, using very primitive fishing gear as well as doing slash and burn cultivation and working as labors in agriculture land and doing cultivation in small parcels of land less than 2 acres, without agriculture inputs and water. • The Federation is an approved charity and non-profit making, non-government organization, incorporated under Government regulations for the Monitoring of Receipts and Disbursement of Funds by NGOs. As an umbrella organization, the Federation conducts advocacy, economical, Social and educational and Environmental Programmes to strengthen and empower the small scale fishing and farming communities in self-reliance and also engaging inland and coastal bio-diversity Conservation.

  3. From mangrove data base of Sudeesa: Conservation of Mangroves: Over 17,000 hectares. Replanting of 3,885ha required mangrove seedling:6,604,500 . Already planted in 460ha produced and planted 1,200,000 mangrove seedlings by September 20, 2018. Community Participation: 1,500 Community organizations: One organization must be Protected 8.5 hectares of Mangroves. Replanted 2.5 hectares of Mangroves. * Sri Lanka Navy * Forest Department * Environment Council * Coast Conservation Department * District Secretariats in 14 Coastal Districts
