  • Excavation and material relocation, including for north bank slope stabilization,

south bank approach channel, powerhouse buttress and Site C substation.

  • Excavation may begin for the earthfill dam.
  • Construction of south bank drainage tunnel, inlet cofferdam on north bank, north

bank cofferdam, RCC buttress.

  • Material crushing for use in production of roller-compacted concrete (RCC) for

the south bank buttress. Concrete batching will occur at on-site batching facilities.

  • Voith Hydro, the turbines and generators contractor, is expected to access

their laydown and work area on the south bank of the dam site in March.

  • Mobilization of crews and equipment.
  • Begin excavation and foundation preparation for on-site manufacturing facility.

  • Viewpoint construction reached substantial completion in fall 2016. Paving,

landscaping and installation of signage will occur in spring/summer 2017.

right-of-way.

completed in spring/summer 2017, weather dependent.

  • Initial survey work and geotechnical investigations will occur in Hudson’s

Hope to support the design development for the shoreline protection.

  • Clearing may continue in the Cache Creek/Bear Flat area for Highway 29

realignment.

  • PRRD request to delay clearing Watson Slough until reservoir filling.
  • BC Hydro reviewed plans and reduced number of trees to be cleared.
  • Approximately 10% of trees will be cleared in 2017, with 90% to remain in place

until winter before reservoir filling.

  • Investigative work will occur at Halfway River for Highway 29 detailed design

development.

  • Clearing may continue in some areas of the eastern and lower reservoir area,

from the dam site to Cache Creek, and in the Moberly River valley.

  • Debris boom will be installed upstream of Moberly River bridge.
