students –18% increase from last year

students – a 20% increase

 Using new technology in field study

including digital microscope and infrared thermometer

Looking Ahead

 New permanent display on water quality in Retzer Nature Center

  • Nature Center has over 25,000 visitors annually—7,500 in programs and the

remainder in special events, planetarium shows and visitors

  • New educational programs are being developed to utilize the space

 Cooperative Environmental Education agreement

  • Agreement between Waukesha County, Waukesha School District and Carroll

University to do collaborative K-12 environmental education

  • K-5th grade are currently being pilot tested while middle school and high school

will be developed in 2018—full launch by fall of 2018

 New Traveling Display

  • Will be developing new traveling display that will correspond with permanent

Retzer display

 Monthly Updates

  • Mid-January will be bi-monthly
  • March will contain all the end of year reporting for 2017
