With certain injuries / illnesses (40 conditions) that more commonly occur to Veterans, Claim Assessment staff (Delegates) can streamline the investigation and decision making processes. Once the diagnosis has been established, these conditions can generally be accepted as service related without further investigation.

Free health care through DVA

DVA Veter eran Card ard Annua nnual V l Veteran G GP H P Health h Checks ks are fully funded every year for the first five years after transition.

Some services will require health a approval before providing health services. You must submit a request before administering these services to be able to claim payment for the service.

Veteran Card (Gold) – all health care needs (within Medicare provisions). Veteran Card (White) – treatment for accepted injuries/illnesses and any mental health condition no matter the cause.
