Thank you for participating in PISA 2015
PISA assesses skills in Maths and Reading and this year, Science is the main subject focus. It also looks at student’s attitudes towards learning through a questionnaire. Note:
- Individual student results are confidential
- Combined results inform educational policy
- Participating in PISA gives you a voice in
educational development in the UK
The assessment and questionnaire will be undertaken using computers A National Centre Test Administrator will invigilate on the day Approximately 30 students will be selected in each school – the selection is random No preparation is required Tests will be split into 2 sections and you will have 60 minutes for each section Test Questions will vary in range; some will be about things you know, whilst others will ask you to work out problems; some you will find easy whilst others may make you think a little harder. The important thing is that you try your best to answer as many questions as possible.

A 35 minute student questionnaire asks about your attitude towards learning Students in England will also do two additional questionnaires (each 10 minutes): A Information and Communication Technology Familiarity Questionnaire explores students’ ICT activities and attitudes towards technology A Educational Career Questionnaire about the amount, content, and conditions of current and earlier learning opportunities; compulsory schooling and career development pathways You will have a 5 minute break between tests The break between the tests and questionnaires will depend on your school (please bring a drink and snack with you and follow school policy) Your school will receive a report with the combined results of all students that participated in your school. No individual results will be shared with your school
