Population (2016 Census): 18,306

  • Modest decline in population since 2006 (2006 Population =18,599)
  • 0.6% decline from 2011 – 2016 (compared to 3.8% increase in Niagara

Region and 4.6% in Ontario) Aging Population

  • Majority of Port Colborne’s population falls in 50-65 age range
  • Median age = 50 (Niagara = 45.7; Ontario = 41.3)

Median Household Income: $57,244

  • Compared to median household income in Ontario of $74,287
  • Lower employment participation rate; larger proportion working part time

relative to balance of Ontario
