CARL FRIEDRICH VON KULMIZ
During the construction of the first railway line in Silesia rich deposits of kaolin and refractory clay close to Żarów were discovered. Carl von Kulmiz immediately took this
factory manufacturing bricks, tiles and stove tiles even in 1842. Few years later he established the cooperation with scientists from Wrocław. This cooperation contributed in foundation of CHAMOTTE BRICKS FACTORY C. VON KULMIZ in 1850, which manufactured fireclay and acid resistant bricks.

MODERN REFRACTORY SOLUTIONS FROM 165 YEARS
700 people produced monthly up to 5 000 t of refractory bricks. Main recipients were steel mills, sugar and lime industry, glass-making as well as chemical industry.
1881
Plant in Żarów owned its construction office working out the projects for gas, retort and chamber furnaces applied in city gas plants. These furnaces were manufactured of refractories coming from this plant and assembled by its employees.
1900
The main laboratory of Didier Group was founded in Żarów. It had a lot of successes, such as concept and implementation of the bricks for relining of steam railway boilers as well as new technology for manufacturing of raw materials necessary for production of fireclay bricks.
1932
Lot of patents and exceptional technical solutions, such as chemically bonded high alumina bricks for steel industries and foundries, mullite-zirconia and corundum-zirconia bricks for coke chute (ŻRMK) which have been applied till today.
