- 2018 marks the 4th administra;on of the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness
for College and Careers (PARCC) and the third opportunity to compare year-to- year results.
- CTSD students took PARCC English Language Arts and Literacy Assessments (ELA)
in grades 3-8.
- CTSD students took PARCC Mathema;cs Assessments in grades 3-8 and End of
Course Assessments in Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II.
- Roughly 7 states and several other groups u;lized PARCC tes;ng in 2018. Other
states have moved to independent state tes;ng or a hybrid exam.
PARCC Performance Levels
(NJ considers levels 4 and 5 to be passing)
- Level 1: Not yet mee;ng grade-level expecta;ons (650-699)
- Level 2: Par;ally mee;ng grade-level expecta;ons (700-724)
- Level 3: Approaching grade-level expecta;ons (725-749)
- Level 4: Mee;ng grade-level expecta;ons (750-809)
- Level 5: Exceeding grade-level expecta;ons (810-850)

Evidence Statement Analysis
- Evidence statements describe the knowledge and skills that an assessment
item/task elicits from students. These are derived directly from the Common Core State Standards.
- School Evidence Statement Analysis Reports are two-page reports which
analyze the performance of the PARCC Evidence Statements at a state, district and school level for each opera;onal item on the Spring 2018 PARCC Assessment.
- The evidence statements are placed in order on the graph from most to least
difficult.

New Tes;ng for 2019
- 1. New Name! The assessments will be called NJSLA-ELA & NJSLA-
- Math. The number of units has been reduced, resulting in less
- minutes. The platform will remain the same.
- 2. Each year, the number of units and test times has been adjusted.
- 3. The new assessment is unique to NJ so state comparison data is
expected to be available, however nationally normed data may not be applicable.
