When and how was the app developed?
Throughout 2018, the charity embarked upon a piece of research with the think tank Demos and in partnership with CSEP. The work explored the effect of change and transition within the Civil Service on its workforce. Feedback concluded that a simple smartphone app would be the best format for distributing best practice across the Civil Service. Early engagement with the Civil Service Fast Stream also suggested that an app would be the preferred medium to receive information.

Who is it aimed at?
The main objective was to develop and deliver a simple “Managers’ Guide to Change” smartphone app. We tested the app content with Civil Service mangers and wellbeing leads. The Charity for Civil Servants Wellbeing Guide is your guide to supporting staff wellbeing through times of change.
What’s in it?
The app contains best practice and ideas from civil servants themselves alongside a range of useful links and resources to help mangers support the wellbeing of their team through periods of change and transition. There are three ways to use the app;
- Read real life examples from case studies from Civil Servants like you in the
Your Wellbeing Guide section.
- Review a list of helpful information in the Resources and Links section. You
can even email them to yourself to read later.
- Use the search magnifying glass icon from the menu to find what you need.
Access the menu from the drop-down option in the top left hand corner.
Read case studies from Civil Servants and access relevant materials in the Your Wellbeing Guide section.
Search from our categorised Resources & Links section to find useful information.
Use our Calendar of Events to find dates of wellbeing awareness days and future webinar & telekits (we’ll send you notifications too).
Where can people download it?
You can download the app from Google Play and the Apple App Store, by searching for ‘Your Wellbeing Guide’.
