MISSION STATEMENT

The ECSC Coaching Commission is committed to bringing together resources and provides a central base for Coach Development from the lowest level to the highest Level

• 1. OBJECTIVES

 To promote, coordinate and facilitate the training and education of coaches, administrators and technical officials within the Eastern Cape  To develop a data base of all coaches within the province  To coordinate working sessions within the Education & training sector  To identify key strategic partners and potential service providers within this sector.  To develop a web based interactive club development support programme

• 2. ACTIVITIES

Hosting of the provincial stakeholders workshop The first workshop was conducted on the 1&2 June 2012 in East London. The workshop was well attended with: * 80 participants representing 46 Federations * 8 Districts and * Representatives from the Provincial Department of Sport, Arts & Culture. Each delegate received A CD containing all the relevant information on the LTPD and LTCD framework.

Workshop to discuss terms of reference of PCC and elect PCC. This workshop was conducted on:

* The 1st November 2012 * In Port Elizabeth. * 28 Participants representing the different codes and other role players were invited to attend. The draft terms of reference for the PCC were discussed followed by the election of the Eastern Cape PCC. This newly formed structure still needs to be ratified by the Provincial Sports Council

Planning for the National Coaches Forum (16-18 November 2012)

The Eastern Cape Sports Council office requested nominations from all provincial affiliates to attend the National Coaches’ Forum workshop. A meeting between Pat Smith (interim coaches forum coordinator) Gary Dolley and Khusta Magada(President of ECSC) compiled a short list of participants taking the following into account:

* Representivity – inclusive of all the districts * Priority codes * Coaching expertise across the participation spectrum * Tertiary institutions

Provincial Coaching Commission workshop (February 2013) * Feedback Report on National Coaches workshop * Role play of Coaching Commission members * Planner programme 2013 District workshops to establish District Coaches Forums Compile data base of all coaches registered with different provincial affiliates -2013 Update ECSC website to include coaching commission
