History of the club
The Club was formed in 1977 by four pistol
shooters.
They leased a disused building from the
Parish Council and converted it to a clubhouse and range.
Membership grew to over 200 and the Club
hosted many inter-club pistol competitions.

The Clubhouse was destroyed by an arson
attack in 1996.
Refurbishment was completed in 1997 but
the handgun ban led to the loss of many members.
The Club survived, adapted to the new
regulations and now has over 100 members.

Club Facilities
An excellent ventilated and soundproofed 25
yard indoor range facility open four evenings a week for smallbore, gallery rifle, black powder rifle and pistol, air rifle and pistol.
Regular meetings at Bisley and MoD ranges
for fullbore shoots with Historic, Classic and Modern rifles.

Club Membership
Membership is open to all responsible people
with a genuine interest in shooting sports.
The Club actively encourages young people
to take up the sport and provides them with a safe, well regulated environment and experienced coaches.

The Club holds regular Guest Days for
members of Home Office approved
- rganisations such as cubs, scouts, guides,
cadets, schools and youth groups.

Action4Youth
The Club hosted an action day for 10-18 year olds
which included a safety talk by the Thames Valley Police Firearms Unit.

Future Plans
The Club has excellent facilities and experienced coaches who
can introduce young people to an activity with the best safety record of any sport and which will teach them safety, responsibility, confidence, concentration and discipline.
Shooting is an expensive sport – the cost of ammunition is
continually rising.
