History of the club

The Club was formed in 1977 by four pistol

shooters.

They leased a disused building from the

Parish Council and converted it to a clubhouse and range.

Membership grew to over 200 and the Club

hosted many inter-club pistol competitions.

History of the club (continued)

The Clubhouse was destroyed by an arson

attack in 1996.

Refurbishment was completed in 1997 but

the handgun ban led to the loss of many members.

The Club survived, adapted to the new

regulations and now has over 100 members.

Future Plans

The Club has excellent facilities and experienced coaches who

can introduce young people to an activity with the best safety record of any sport and which will teach them safety, responsibility, confidence, concentration and discipline.

Shooting is an expensive sport – the cost of ammunition is

continually rising.

The Club is keen to expand its involvement with the young

people of Old Windsor and is looking for ways to attract sponsorship or grants that will help it to achieve this aim.
